Romans 8:32 – “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?”
We applaud people in the world who give generously for a noble cause. Media glorifies a millionaire who gives his life earnings to a charity organization, and others praise the common man who is doing his part to alleviate the poverty in his neighborhood. But the most generous of all givers is God Himself. No one on earth can out-give God.
In today’s verse, Paul makes us ponder the sacrifice that God made just because He loved us. Can you imagine someone sentencing their only son to death for a crime you committed? Can you imagine giving up your loved one to pay for someone else’s mistake? Yet, that’s exactly what God did. He gave up His own Son, that we may no longer be separated from Him. How great is the Father’s love for us?!
Let’s consider the latter half of the verse… If God gave up His own Son for you, will He not also graciously give you all things? What are you seeking God for today? Whether it is peace, joy, health, stability, wisdom or strength, God will graciously give you what you need. Trust in Him and rest in His unconditional love for you.
