Exodus 34:6 – And the Lord … proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth
All through the Bible, we see God’s character through His actions. In this scripture, God Himself declares to Moses some traits of His Character.
God is full of kindness and compassion towards us, His children. Every time we sin and do wrong, God’s compassion and unchanging love for us is shown to us through the mercy with which He forgives us.
God is gracious to us though we are not worthy. God does not see our character but gives us His grace because that is His character. He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for our sins even though we did not deserve it.
Psalms 145:8 says God is slow to anger. As much as we sin and do wrong, our God is patient with us and always looks to forgive us and love us when we confess and repent of our sins. He takes delight in us and brings us to the path of righteousness through His Grace and Mercy.
Our God is a good God. He is always there for us whether we deserve it or not. He is a promise-keeping God and a God who is faithful to His children. He always wants the best for us.
The Word of God is the truth that remains the same yesterday, today, and for always. In John 14:6, when Thomas asked Jesus how they would know the way to get to Him, Jesus replied saying “I am the way, the truth, and the life…”
Dear God, thank you for Your Goodness, Your Grace, and Your Mercy in our lives. We are not deserving of it Lord but you are a faithful and promise-keeping God who wants only the best for His children. We love you Lord and give you all the Glory, Honor, and Praise. Amen
