“He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. “ – Psalm 91:4
David is famously known as the man after God’s heart. But it does not mean he did not face difficulties in his life. God was with him, however, he faced battles in his life more difficult than any of us would have ever had.
On multiple occasions, we see that God helped David through different men and women in his life. Jonathan was a great friend who helped David to run from his father Saul when he found out that Saul wanted to kill David. Michal, his first wife, also helped him to escape from her father Saul. She helped him down the window when Saul’s men came looking for him.
We also see that David runs to his spiritual father, Samuel every time he needs spiritual counsel. God used Samuel to lead David on the right path.
God himself provided David with supernatural protection. While he evaded King Saul by hiding in the caves, God did not give David into his hands. God had covered him with His feathers and David took refuge under His wings.
This is also true for all God’s children. God is always protecting us. There is so much that happens in the spiritual realm that we are not aware of. However, God in His goodness keeps us hidden under His wings and provides us protection from the evil one.
Whenever we find ourselves in a difficult situation, we should remember how God saved His people. After all, He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever. He is an unchanging God and loves to protect those who place their faith in Him.
