God of the Impossible

Luke 1:37

For with God nothing will be impossible.

As believers in Christ, we often expect signs, wonders, and miracles as promised by our God. However, we expect them to unfold according to our own understanding rather than as God has ordained. While we confine our thought process to earthly standards, God works in ways far beyond them to fulfil His purposes for His people.

In the book of Luke, when the angel told Mary that she would conceive Jesus despite not knowing a man, Mary could not possibly imagine how this could be, as it seemed impossible. But Gabriel responded by affirming God’s promise: nothing is impossible with Him.

In this context, it means the word of God would come true, regardless of circumstances. It may happen through ordinary means or in a miraculous way that transcends the laws of nature, but God’s promise always stands and never fails.

Let this verse be an anchor of hope whenever we receive a promise from God. Even as we prepare our hearts to commemorate Good Friday tomorrow, let’s reaffirm our faith in the Lord. Though time and seasons change, His promise remains, and He is faithful to fulfil it.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for being a promise keeper. You have demonstrated Your faithfulness by fulfilling all Your promises with unfailing love. In moments of distress, help us rely on Your goodness and expect great things as we walk through life with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
