God Paints a Purpose

Romans 8:28

We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

This verse indicates that God promises to turn all things – every situation – into good for those who love Him and follow His plan. He includes everything, and nothing is excluded. Every part, every situation, every circumstance, be it good or bad, nothing is left out. It also means the microscopic things that we barely notice, the highs and lows, rest securely in His hands. Everything that has ever happened or is happening in our lives, God will orchestrate it for our benefit. Nothing is happenstance; God sovereignly controls everything.

Bad things do happen – loneliness, hunger, disease, betrayal, financial hardship, harmful habits, and many more unpleasant things. The verse doesn’t claim that bad things are actually good for us. God isn’t telling us to ignore our pain or to live like those hardships don’t define us.

Everything in life, both good and bad, works together to bring about good. That is God’s sovereign power. He can take the heaviest burdens and the gravest sins and completely transform them for His purpose. Not everything may seem good, yet He weaves it all together for our ultimate benefit. He redeems and restores everything for our gain and for His glory.

He takes what the world shatters and, with sovereign power, transforms it – not merely into okay, but into breathtaking good. God guides and shapes every part of our lives for His purpose. He finds reason in the chaos and meaning in the madness. He transforms even the most insignificant events into something that eternally shapes our souls, leaving a lasting imprint on who we are and giving us a purpose for our living.

When we love God and follow His call, He weaves every twist of life – blessings or trials – into a tapestry of good.
