Psalms 37:25 ESV

I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.

The psalmist’s powerful testimony here spans a lifetime of observing God’s faithfulness. It reminds us that our Lord is not just a God of the moment but the One who provides and sustains us throughout our lives.

Today’s verse doesn’t promise a life free from challenges or guarantee material wealth. Instead, it assures us that God never forsakes His people. His provision may not always look like we expect, but it is always sufficient for our needs.

God’s character is consistent across generations. Whether we’re just starting in life or nearing its end, God remains faithful. We must remember that God is unwavering in His commitment to those who follow Him. Even in our darkest moments, we are never alone or abandoned. He will never leave nor forsake us.

We have an assurance of God’s presence and provision in all circumstances. Sometimes His provision comes through unexpected sources – a timely gift from a friend, a new job opportunity, or the support of a church community. We may face financial challenges, but God promises to take care of His children.

When you reflect on your life, do you see evidence of God’s faithful provision? Perhaps in ways you hadn’t noticed before? Take a moment to recall times when God has come through for you, even in small ways. This practice of counting your blessings can strengthen your faith and help you trust God for the blessed future He has in store for you.
