2 Corinthians 9:10 – “Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.”
How tremendous the goodness of our God, the Creator of all things, who created absolutely everything we know – and also what we do not know yet. He is such an amazing Provider that He gives us the food to eat, and in many cases, the seed comes with the product, so that we have the chance to plant more of it, again, and again. Think of an apple, a banana, a tomato, an orange, a cucumber, all have seeds, and if we want, we can have our own vegetable garden, plant a tree, and wait for it to yield its fruit.
What our God has given us is the original, it is His creation, and was not a Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) to be kept under His control and generosity, as some industries and scientists have done. No: He gives it fully, generously and abundantly, with the seed in itself. “”Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.”” (Genesis 1: 11-12 NIV).
What a powerful and very real display of God’s Grace towards us! He lavishes His Grace upon us, His love, His goodness, His forgiveness. He leaves us with a seed, which we can plant, not just organic fruit, but the spiritual fruit, fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22).
Food that we can plant and which can last years, and which can be passed on from generation to generation. Food that does not get stored up, does not get spoiled, food which we ourselves cannot buy, only receive, plant, and sow, over and over again. Food that is not perishable, but eternal.
PRAYER
“Father God, thank you for your infinite love towards us. Thank you for always giving everything that we need. Help us be good sowers of the seeds You freely give us. In Jesus’ name, Amen!”
Amen..Praise to the LORD Almighty Loving Gracious Father GOD.
