Matthew 21:22 – “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
“And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive”,”because you keep His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight.” (Matthew 21:22, 1 John 3:22).
The great truth is that for us to receive what we ask for, first we need to engage our faith. We know that “faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1). We hope for something based on our faith, and not based on our sight.
Second, we must keep God’s commandments, and do what pleases Him. Our obedience then generates a perfect vertical alignment in our will, completely synchronized and fine tuned to His will. Like in the days when we had to carefully tune the radio dial to the exact frequency in order to be able to hear a clear sound instead of scrambling and screeching noises. When this happens, our prayers become fully tuned to God’s will.
At last, our God answers our prayers because He knows us, because we love and obey and seek Him. He is our loving Father, and He always without a doubt knows what is best for us.
When we engage our prayer with our faith, fully trusting Him and knowing that His Will for us is perfect, He acts. And when our God acts, “who can turn it back?” (Isaiah 43:13).
So pray believing and you will receive!
