Deuteronomy 31:8 NKJV
The Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.
The Israelites must have felt a mix of emotions—fear, uncertainty, and perhaps even doubt—as they stood on the edge of the Promised Land. Their journey had been long and filled with struggles, from slavery in Egypt to wandering in the wilderness for forty years. Moses, the leader who had guided them through it all, was telling them he would not be going with them. Instead, Joshua would lead them into a land of unknown challenges. There were giants in the land, battles ahead, and the weight of stepping into a future they couldn’t yet see. It’s not hard to imagine the anxiety that must have filled their hearts.
But then came this powerful reassurance: The Lord Himself goes before you. Moses wasn’t just offering them encouragement—he was reminding them of an unchanging truth. God had been with them every step of the way, parting the Red Sea, providing manna in the wilderness, and guiding them by fire and cloud. And now, He wasn’t about to abandon them. This verse promised they would not have to walk into the unknown alone. God wasn’t just sending them forward—He was going ahead of them, preparing the way, ensuring that His presence would remain with them no matter what they faced.
If you’re facing something unknown right now, take a deep breath. God hasn’t abandoned you. He’s in the future, clearing the path and right beside you, walking every step. Even when you don’t see a way, He is making one. Even when the road seems blocked, He is opening doors you never expected. He is in control, and His presence is the one constant you can rely on. So move forward confidently, not because you have everything figured out, but because the One who holds the universe in His hands is holding your future, too. Keep trusting, keep walking, and know that you are never alone.
