John 14:27 NKJV

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

In John 14, Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure, but He assures them that the Holy Spirit will always be present with them. Jesus, while conversing with the disciples, offers them His peace that surpasses all understanding – different from the peace that the world offers. It’s a peace that remains steadfast through all trials and tribulations.

Every living person desires to achieve one thing: peace of mind. We often seek peace in worldly things that are temporary and superficial. A mind and heart that finds peace based on external circumstances will always remain unhappy and agitated. The more we pursue things outside of God, the more fleeting our peace will be.

The peace that comes from God is not temporary or based on our circumstances. Eternal peace that transcends all human understanding and external forces comes from our relationship with God. It is trusting and believing that God is in charge, and that He foresees everything beyond what we face today. It is a sense of bliss that remains constant, regardless of the challenges and difficulties that may come our way. If we want to be stress-free and have a mindful attitude towards life, we should meditate on this scripture and declare it loudly over all the worries in our lives.
