Psalms 147:7 NKJV “Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praises on the harp to our God”
“Why do we praise God?” This question might sound like a Christian cliche, but once in a while, we need to reflect upon it. Do we praise God rhetorically or for our personal concerns? The Holy Bible says in Psalm 147:1 that ‘it is pleasant and right to praise Him’ and significantly enough, this Psalm begins and ends with the same phrase: “Praise the LORD”
The psalmist believed that there were enough reasons for us to praise Him. When you try recalling a few today that drives your praise to Him may God’s Word help you in remembering the right reasons to praise Him.
It is good and right to praise Him because:
The Lord builds up that which is broken. (Psalms 147:2)
The Lord heals the broken-hearted. (Psalms 147:3)
The Lord takes care of the provisions. (Psalms 147:4)
The Lord protects us from trouble. (Psalms 147:6)
The Lord gives strength in times of need. (Psalms 147:8)
The Lord provides security. (Psalms 147:9)
The Lord cares for the lowly and humble. (Psalms 147:11)
The Lord rewards a faithful heart. (Galatians 6:9)
The Lord gives strength to remain fruitful. (1 Corinthians 10:13)
The Lord fulfills His Word. (Psalms 147:15)
The Lord brings justice. (Psalms 147:16-17)
The Lord transforms. (Psalms 147:19-20)
If any of these are your personal experiences today, you surely have a reason to praise God!
