John 7:38 – He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
When we believe in Jesus, Jesus is our source of blessings and in turn, we must become a blessing to those around us. Blessings are not only material in nature, but these include the spiritual blessings of enjoying God’s love, joy, and peace among other divine blessings and opportunities to reach out to unbelievers with our knowledge of the good news of the Gospel. Jesus is the Living Water who quenches our every need and we are transformed through Him.
Jesus, the Messiah came to this world to bless us and to lead us to Salvation. As we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and place our trust in Him, we receive the Holy Spirit. In Acts 2:38, Apostle Peter tells us to repent, seek forgiveness of our sins, and we will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. It’s the greatest gift that we receive from God. As our faith in Jesus grows, the gifts of the Holy Spirit work in and through our lives so that we will be able to bless those around us. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for us to keep to ourselves. God has given us the Holy Spirit, to be instruments of the Holy Spirit, through whom God will touch those around us and bless them.
When we believe in Jesus and work with the Holy Spirit that is in us, the rivers of living water that fill our hearts will overflow as God’s love to those around us. They will experience the love of God and perhaps be drawn to Him.
Dear Lord, thank you for your Son, Jesus Christ, and for your Holy Spirit. We believe in Jesus, the Son of God, our Savior. As we are blessed through Jesus, help us, Lord, to be a blessing to all those around us through your Holy Spirit in us. Amen
