Keep Doing Good

Galatians 6:9 – “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

Giving up is the easiest thing a person can do. Imagine a marathon runner halfway through his course… wouldn’t it be easier to quit halfway than push himself to finish the race? But only the runners who complete the race win the medal. A person standing in a queue may be tempted to just step out and go back home, but he will not receive what he had been waiting for all this while.

Perseverance definitely has its benefits in our spiritual lives too. We who have been touched by the love of Christ have been called to do good work. Whether it is offering a kind word or lending a helping hand, the little you do matters a lot to the person who receives it. Even if you don’t receive any acknowledgement or appreciation for the things you do, God sees your work and He will reward you for it.

Don’t grow weary of doing what God has called you to do. It may be hard and unending, but when you do it in obedience to God, He will make sure you reap multiple times what you’ve sown. So, don’t give up just yet. God will grant you the strength to endure this difficult season of sowing, and you will soon move into the season of abundant harvest.
