Psalms 121:1-2 – “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”
The hills are some of the majestic masterpieces created by God. They stand tall, towering over us, seemingly unconquerable. We laud the select few who’ve challenged their limits and battled extreme conditions to stand on mountain peaks. Yes, a mountain does seem mighty and strong, but it’s a speck of dust when compared to the One who created it.
As we go about our lives, we face varied struggles, big and small. Sometimes, we look to our own knowledge and abilities to solve the problems that come our way. On other occasions, we look to people we trust, and depend on them to help us out. In today’s Scripture passage, the Psalmist looks to the hills and wonders where his help is going to come from.
Are you in a fix right now? Do you wonder who can help you out of your current mess? Look up… not just to the hills, but beyond them. Look up to the Lord who created the mountains, the heavens and the earth. The One who gave up His own Son to save you is willing and able to turn your life around. Cry out to Him, seek His face and see the deliverance He has promised.
