Isaiah 59:19
“So shall they fear the name of the Lord… and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.“
We see a lot of motivational posts on social media that say you either swim or sink through the problems, but spiritual warfare does not work like that.
In Isaiah 15:19, the verse describes the Lord’s response to what He will do to His people when the enemy attacks. It showcases God’s authority and majesty over His people. When we speak about His glory from the rising of the sun, it is a universal acknowledgment of God’s sovereignty.
When the enemy comes like a flood that describes overwhelming emotions and a downfall in any area of life, usually a flood represents chaos, destruction, and persecution. In the face of this threat, the spirit of the Lord will not let you swim or sink; He will lift you above all. This part signifies God’s protection and guiding presence in our lives. He stands firm amidst adversity.
The verse speaks largely of the nature of our Lord and His love and protection for those who fear and obey Him.
