Deuteronomy 28:8 AMP
“The Lord will command the blessing upon you in your storehouses and in all that you undertake, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you.”
What a blessed assurance! Our Heavenly Father promises to command blessings on all that we do. Notice the word “command”. When an army marches toward the enemy, they do not stand indecisively in the middle of the ground and wonder if they should proceed. No, instead they march on with the confidence of their trusted leader’s command. Our caring Heavenly Father wants to command lavish blessings on us and prosper us in the place He has prepared for us. What a hopeful promise we have to hold onto!
However, God does require one thing from us: obedience. Deuteronomy 28:1-2 AMP says, “Now it shall be, if you diligently listen to and obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all of His commandments which I am commanding you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you pay attention to the voice of the Lord your God.” All that stands between us and the manifestation of His promise is complete submission to His Lordship over our lives.
It delights a surrendered heart to please the Lord of our lives. Mark 12:30 AMP shows us the way, “and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul (life), and with all your mind (thought, understanding), and with all your strength.” This love is not a matter of emotion but the act of putting God before everything else in your life. Won’t you surrender all today?
