Isaiah 65:24 NKJV

It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.

Isaiah 65 is the Lord’s response to the prophet’s prayer for redemption, as He had promised. Even while in exile, some Israelites choose to rebel against God. However, out of His compassion, He vowed to redeem the loyal remnant of the Israelites. God intends to establish a new Jerusalem (new heavens and a new earth) where His presence will be more tangible. Unlike the existing earth, this new Jerusalem will be characterised by peace, rejoicing, and longevity.

The chapter demonstrates how God longs to forgive His children and is eager to build a strong bond with them. Digging deeper into today’s verse, we learn that God wants a close relationship with us. Our closest buddies or family members can quickly sense our emotions at a glance. Similarly, our Heavenly Father knows it all even before a word is on our tongue (Psalm 139:4 NIV). He is omniscient. Much more than our loved ones, the God of the universe wants a deeper relationship with us.

Prayer leads us into close communion with God. When we commune with God, our thoughts will evolve in accordance with His plans, and He will reveal our purpose. We will receive prompt answers from God when our prayers are in harmony with His will. Today, let’s get closer to our omniscient God in prayer. Let’s thank Him for hearing us even before we start to speak. God watches over you and hears you!
