Psalms 32:8 NKJV

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will guide you with My eye.

Happy New Year!

What a guarantee to start 2025! Let us enter this year with the confidence that the Lord our Shepherd is walking alongside us. If we consistently follow Him with an obedient, humble spirit, we have the assurance that God will instruct, teach, and guide us.

God’s instructions are readily available in His Word for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training us to walk in His plan (2 Timothy 3:16). He offers to teach us the best paths. He guides our decision-making step-by-step through the Holy Spirit inside us.

Just as parents watch over their children to ensure their safety and well-being, our Heavenly Father watches over us with a loving eye. God is always with us, just like He was with the Israelites as a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night (Exodus 13:22). He is all-seeing and knows the tiny details of our lives. His guidance may include corrections, redirections, and discipline because He loves us too much.

When you face a decision-making challenge, remember you are not alone. Be honest before God and tell Him, “Lord, I do not know what to do!”. Trust that He delights in ordering the steps of His children and watches over every detail of our lives. If you are in the dark, get back to the Word – it’s a lamp to help you take the next step and provides light for the path ahead (Psalms 119:105).

Let us start 2025 with this prayer: Father, thank You for a new year. May Your goodness and mercy follow me all the 365 days of this year. My Shepherd, please guide, teach, and counsel me in everything that lies before me. Empower me to obey You, even when it does not make sense. Help me, Lord! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
