Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34
This story was published on Newsversity – In Armenia, a couple of decades ago, a father told his son that he would always be there for him as the son left for school. That very day a powerful earthquake rocked the school area; the radio announced 1000+ casualties.
The father teared up seeing the pile of wreckage. While the other parents and onlookers cried, the father located the area around his son’s school and started pulling up debris from the pile of rubble.
Finally, after digging through the night and into the next day, he heard a faint cry. “Help!” Then, a muffled voice, “Papa?”. The father called out to his son, but the son let the other kids out because he knew his father would get him. 14 children were saved that day because one father was faithful.
How much more does our Heavenly Father love us? In Deuteronomy 4:31, the Bible says that God is a merciful God and He will never leave us nor forsake us. This is a covenant that God has made with us. God deserves all our praise for being our faithful, loving, and forgiving Father.
Psalm 23:6 says that God’s goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives. What a beautiful blessing that His mercy and goodness follows us. It’s not who we are or what we do that gets us God’s goodness and mercy but it’s His nature to be Good and Merciful to His children.
Thank you, Lord, for choosing us as your children to enjoy your goodness and mercy in our lives. We praise your name, Lord. Help us Lord to spread your goodness and everlasting mercy to those around us just as you are so good and merciful towards us. You are worthy of all our praise Lord. Amen.
Appa You are so Worthy to us… Where can we go without You my Lord…. Love You Appa for Your kindness to us
