I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow. Jeremiah 31:13 NIV
Many people are not born into wealthy or affluent families. Some come from lower-middle-class or low-income backgrounds, where only one member of the household may be earning to make ends meet. For example, a young woman grew up in a challenging and poverty-stricken environment. Despite the limited resources available, she learnt that with faith, Jesus could help her achieve great things with whatever she had.
As the years passed, she excelled academically. Despite facing numerous obstacles, including her family’s financial struggles, she remained steadfast in her belief that giving her best effort would lead to God-given opportunities. Eventually, her perseverance paid off as she earned a prestigious and highly sought-after degree, which secured her a well-paying job. With her success, she could repay her family’s debts and provide a better standard of living for everyone around her. Her faith remained unwavering through every challenge, and she continued to pray, trusting that God was always with her.
She now enjoys a fulfilling life with her husband and daughter, experiencing more blessings than she had ever known in her childhood. The principle of hard work played a crucial role in her success, but her trust in the God of the destitute and powerless was equally at work. She prayed through her hardships, and her sorrow was turned into joy. She found divine comfort and wisdom to make sound decisions throughout her journey.
This story illustrates that great things can happen when one seeks and prays to our heavenly Father in all circumstances. It is a reminder that faith in God and persistence can lead to remarkable outcomes.
