Job 36:4,5 – “For truly my words are not false; one who is perfect in knowledge is with you. Behold, God is mighty, and does not despise any; he is mighty in strength of understanding.”
The start of a new year can be quite exciting. It gives us an opportunity to review our lives, make positive changes, and begin afresh. A blank calendar is just waiting to be filled with evens and experiences that will teach, nurture and strengthen us. But then, there’s also the anxiety of an unknown future that lurks in the back of our minds. We have no clue what we’re getting into this year. We don’t know if our plans will pan out as we desire.
Today’s verses from Job remind us of a crucial truth that’s sure to put our minds at ease – the One who is perfect in knowledge is among us. Isn’t that comforting? The Lord Jesus Christ stumped intellectuals and scholars during His time on the earth. And the same Spirit that guided Jesus now dwells within us.
If you’re wondering how you’re going to navigate the coming months, take comfort in the fact that God, the source of all wisdom, knowledge and understanding is with you. He will teach you what to do. He will guide you with His Word. You only need to be willing to follow His plans for your life. As you plan the coming year, pray for God’s wisdom to make the right decisions. Our own plans and desires pale in comparison to what God has in store for us. May 2016 be your best year yet!
