Praise Through the Storm

Psalm 7:17

“I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.

This verse was written by David, a man in the Bible who loved and trusted God. At this point, people were saying bad things about him that weren’t true. He was hurt, misunderstood, and in danger. But instead of getting angry or bitter, he ended his prayer by thanking God and praising Him.

Why? Because David believed something very important: God is always good and fair, even when people aren’t. David left things in God’s hands, trusting that they would work out in the right manner at the right time.

Life is not always fair. You can do the right thing and still have it go wrong. You can be kind, and other folks can be mean to you. That is not easy. But this verse challenges us: even when life does not make sense, we can still thank God because He knows things as they actually are, and He always does the right thing.

It can seem quite unfair when you work really hard on something, but someone else takes the credit. But, consider this: rather than losing your temper, you take a deep breath and say, “God, You know what truly happened. I’m leaving it in Your hands.” Even if nothing improves immediately, you still thank Him. A few days later, someone notices what you’re doing and gives you an improved opportunity. You realize that God was secretly assisting you the entire time.

That is what it is to thank God because of His righteousness. You’re saying, “God, I believe You’re fair. I believe You more than my feelings.” Even if your life feels complicated or difficult today, God is still good. So, take a moment and thank God for being ever-right and fair.

Prayer: God, thank You for being good and just, even when life isn’t. Help me to trust You and thank You, no matter what is going on around me. Amen.

      Dear Brother,
      Psalms 34: 17 says,
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
We are praying for your deliverance and peace of God in your life.
Continue to hold onto Him, don’t give up.
      He is faithful!
      Blessings!
