Preserved by His Promise

Psalm 37:28

“The Lord loves justice, and does not forsake His saints; they are preserved forever, but the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.”

It is the will of God that His children should be good and do good, for He is good. When we walk with the Lord, we aim to live in a manner that is righteous and just. God’s presence is always with us, and so we should lead Christ-centred lives.

Today’s scripture assures us that the Lord will preserve us forever. What do we mean by preserving? It means maintaining something in its original or existing state and preventing decomposition. As we know, change is constant, and our lives undergo lots of changes, either good or bad. Irrespective of the situation or season we face, be it an esteemed one or a lowly one, we are sure that God preserves us and we are never alone. His presence is always with us when we choose to abide in Him.

If we do not walk with Him and our values are world-centred, we are not preserved but cut off. Therefore, let us adorn ourselves with God’s righteousness and justice and never cease to be good and do good always.

Prayer:

Righteous Father, You are the God of justice, and You never turn away from those who love You. Thank You for Your faithful promise that You will never forsake Your people. Preserve me, Lord, as You have promised. Keep me walking in righteousness, trusting that You see all and will make all things right in Your time. Let my life reflect Your love for what is right, and let my hope be anchored in Your eternal faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
