Matthew 9:21-22 – “…for she said to herself, “If I only touch his garment, I will be made well.” Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And instantly the woman was made well.”
One can only wonder what this woman had been thinking. She was considered unclean due to her issue of blood, and probably ostracized by people who knew her. Was it the desperation of being sick for 12 years that led her out of the confines of her home? Or perhaps it was the determination to see this Jesus everyone was talking about and receive her healing once and for all.
Either way, this lady took the effort, came out into a public place, braved the crowds and reached out to touch Jesus. The result of her actions was instantaneous healing. She put her faith into action when she touched the hem of Jesus’ garment, and we too need to do the same.
In what area of your life do you need to be made well? Is it your physical body, mental health, emotions, finances, relationships or spiritual wellness? Whatever it may be, you know that Jesus is willing and able to make you whole again. You just need to make the effort to reach out to Him in faith. Take the next step in faith, believing that God will be there for you, no matter what.
