Reconciled with God

2 Corinthians 5:18

“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.”

The dictionary defines the word ‘reconcile’ as restoring friendly relations between two people. Today’s verse reminds us that God reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ. We were lost in darkness, steeped in sin, and far away from the Lord. But He sent His only beloved Son to take our sin on Himself and bear our punishment, so we can be united with Him.

Our sin no longer separates us from God. We are free to live in a harmonious relationship with the Lord, dwelling in His love and experiencing His peace on a daily basis. However, the Lord saved us for a purpose. The salvation we experience is not for us alone, but for everyone around us as well.

When we come across something interesting or life-changing, we’re quick to share it with our friends and family. How much more should we be eager to share about the transformation God has brought about in our lives? Today’s verse reminds us that God has given us the ministry of reconciliation so we can draw others to Him. Let’s take time to share the love of God with someone who needs to experience it today.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of salvation. Show me whom I can share it with, so they too can experience the blessing of a relationship with You.
