Psalm 62:8
Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.
Trusting God is not a sometime action; it is an all-time calling. The psalmist writes, “Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.” These words invite us into a relationship of constant dependence, not seasonal reliance.
God doesn’t ask us to come only when we feel strong or our prayers are polished. He invites us, as we are, to pour out everything – joys, sorrows, questions, and even doubts. To pour is to empty, leaving nothing withheld. Why? Because He alone is big enough to hold it all. Unlike human listeners, who may grow tired of our burdens, God never wearies of our cry.
To trust Him at all times means to lean into Him in the highs and the lows. It means trusting Him when doors open and when they remain shut, when prayers are answered swiftly and when they are not. In every circumstance, He remains constant; a fortress, a place of safety where no storm can destroy you.
Do not mistake refuge for escape. God may not always remove the trial. But He surrounds you with His presence in the midst of it. That is true refuge, steadfast peace while the world around you shakes.
Today, take a moment to pour out your heart before Him. Tell Him everything, and then rest. Your burdens are heard, your tears are counted, and your life is secure in the everlasting refuge of God.
