Remaining Steadfast

“My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise.”  Psalm 57:7

Surrounded by lions, darkness, rocky stones, stinking clothes, and an empty stomach with starvation, what will your heart’s response be? Will words of gratitude come out of your mouth or words of complaint?

Yet, when you look through the scriptures, words of gratitude, praise, and honor is what came out of David’s mouth, even in that situation!

But, reality is, for most of us this sounds very superficial, but the secret to such confidence and hope is— David’s relationship with God. David experienced such depths of God’s heart that His desires not only transformed but life for him, became a pursuit of songs of love to His God. He knelt down, lifted hands, worshipped; through it all. Every high and low of his life was like a strike of chords that became melodies for His God.

You can’t comprehend what situation you’ll find yourself in tomorrow, but the only thing that’ll secure you, heal you, and empower you is embracing God’s heart. So embrace and Rejoice!
