2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

The Holy Bible is more than just a holy book. It brings hope to the hopeless and life to the lifeless. It is the ultimate love story between God and man. John 3:16 says, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”

In layman’s terms, God did not hesitate to sacrifice His Son, whom He loved dearly, for our sins. He was aware of the magnitude of human sin and the destruction that it would bring along with it. He could not bear to see the destruction of His creation. So, He decided to step in and send His Son, Jesus Christ, to rescue the world.

When Lord Jesus lived on this earth, He was blameless and righteous. He resisted every temptation that came His way and lived a life void of sin. It was this faultless Jesus who became the final and perfect sacrifice so that man could be reconciled with God. When Lord Jesus died on the cross, He took every shame, suffering, pain, and curse away from us. If this is not love, then what is?

Let us take a moment to thank God for His love, mercy, and kindness, which He displays every single day. He is indeed the personification of true love.

Dear Lord, if it wasn’t for You, where would I be? Thank You for pardoning my sins and making me righteous before You. Enable me to give up on my sinful nature and live a life that glorifies You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
