Psalm 34:4
“I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”
None of us is exempt from trouble. Problems can wear us down, causing anxiety, lack of sleep, and even fear. Fear does not come from God and can paralyze us as we don’t know the end result.
Think of a time in your life when you experienced this feeling. Perhaps now you are facing a situation that brings you fear. Know that God is in control of absolutely “everything”. He is not surprised by the unknowns – He is Omniscient. Time, as we know it, is in His hands. His plans are always better than any plan we can come up with. His ways are always better than any way we choose to walk. He knows exactly what is going to happen next.
When we shift our focus from our problems to our Lord, when our eyes seek His help, when we look up to Him, this fear becomes dim. We realize that we really cannot do anything except rely on His goodness and the perfect plan He has for us.
This exercise takes courage on our part. It requires us to let go and let God take over; surrender. We surrender everything to Him: our worst fears, precious possessions, and our entire being. He then gives us peace that the world cannot understand- peace that transcends human understanding.
So, let’s remember that no matter the situation, our God holds us securely in His hands. Fear has no room where He is. God is near to us; He hears us when we call upon Him. He has the power to deliver us from all our fears. Let us always seek and trust Him!
