Psalm 30:2 – “O Lord, my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me.”
King David from the tribe of Judah, was said to be a man after God’s own heart. (1 Samuel 13:14). He truly, entirely and obediently loved the Lord. He was honest with God, always confessed his mistakes, and always sought God’s forgiveness. It’s true, he made some pretty bad choices and suffered the consequences.
Likewise, we too suffer the consequences of our wrong choices, and these can make us sick, not necessarily sick in our body, but sick in our mind: distress, anxiety, mental suffering, fear, loneliness, rejection, depression.
David knew the only way to heal his mind was to continuously seek the Lord for help – to cry out – to pray hard – to praise hard – to pour out his heart, until he knew that he was heard.
And we know that the Lord not only heard David, but healed him too! (Psalm 30:2).
Let’s follow David’s example by confessing our mistakes to the Lord; by crying out for His help, because He truly hears us and His ears are inclined to all who truly seek Him.
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from ALL their troubles”! (Psalm 34:17). “And He heals them.” (Isaiah 57:19). Amen!
