Jeremiah 33:3 Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.
This verse encapsulates the invitation to seek God wholeheartedly. This is knowing that He will respond and reveal His marvelous works to those who call upon Him. Throughout the Bible, we encounter numerous examples of individuals who faithfully called upon the Lord. They sought His guidance and witnessed the extraordinary ways in which He intervened in their lives.
Abraham – The Friend of God (Genesis 18:23-33)
Abraham, known as the father of faith, exemplified the power of persistent prayer and intercession. When God planned to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham interceded on behalf of the righteous people living there. Through his earnest plea, he called upon the Lord, seeking His mercy and justice. God, in His infinite love and compassion, listened to Abraham’s prayer. God even agreed to spare the cities if a certain number of righteous people were found. Abraham’s faith and intimate relationship with God highlight the importance of calling upon Him in times of trouble and interceding for others.
The Apostle Paul – A Life Transformed (Acts 9:1-19)
Saul, later known as Paul, encountered the risen Christ on the road to Damascus. Blinded by the encounter, he called upon the Lord, seeking guidance and understanding. Through a divine encounter, God transformed Saul’s life. God called him to be an apostle and a powerful instrument for spreading the Gospel. Paul’s life demonstrates the transformative power of calling upon God. Let’s allow Him to work in us and through us, even in the midst of our weaknesses and failures.
