Serve and Follow GOD

If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. John 12:26 NKJV

The life of a child of GOD is that of service, and this service is attached to following GOD. We cannot serve GOD without following HIS commands and HIS will, and similarly we cannot effectively follow GOD if we do not serve HIM.

Moses was a devout servant of God, faithfully following His guidance. He didn’t seek the role of a deliverer; it was a path chosen by God. Despite initial resistance, Moses came to understand that serving God meant following His ways wholeheartedly.

Moses faced numerous daunting challenges throughout his journey. He confronted his greatest fear, the Pharaoh, navigated through the parted Red Sea, and led a fearful community willing to turn against him at the slightest hint of trouble. He left behind the comfort of his settled life in Midian with his wife, and children, embarking on a lifelong journey as a traveler. Despite his sacrifices and leadership, Moses never entered the promised land alongside God’s people.

Following GOD cost Moses His comfort, but our GOD honored him. GOD spoke for Moses, when people would rise against him. In Numbers 12:6-8, it says “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream. Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house.  I speak with him face to face, even plainly, and not in dark sayings; And he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?”

Let us be people who follow God sacrificially, willing to sacrifice our comfort. Whether it means sacrificing sleep for prayer or fasting from food occasionally, let us demonstrate our commitment to follow and serve God despite challenges and weaknesses. He is a good God who will honor our service.
