Isaiah 42:10
“Sing to the Lord a new song, And His praise from the ends of the earth, You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, You coastlands and you inhabitants of them!”
Isaiah 42 starts with a prophecy of Messiah who comes in meekness yet in power to redeem mankind. Prophecy mainly proclaims Christ’s covenant and His mission which was given by Father. He proclaims the light to the Gentiles and liberty to the captives. The Prophet encourages all to receive this prophecy with joy and rejoicing.
Sing unto the Lord a new song, a New Testament song. The giving of Christ for a light to the Gentiles (Isa. 42:6) was a new thing, and very surprising. The mystery that was hidden and now revealed (Eph 3:5,6). This song is no longer restricted to the temple of Jerusalem but to the ends of the earth. It is not confined to cities and highlands but coastlands and likewise as well.
As we prepare ourselves to celebrate the birth of the Messiah, let us rejoice with a new song. This song has no discrimination, it is available to all. It is the joy which cannot be taken away. We might be in the midst of a storm yet let us sing a new song and praise arise. We might be in the valley yet we shall sing this new song because this song has comfort. We might be in the desert yet we shall sing this new song because this song has communion.
Thank God for this amazing grace which enabled wretch like us to be saved and rejoice in Him always.
Thank God that in Christ we are a new creation with a new song to sing, a song of endless hope, and a song of eternity.
Thank God we can sing this new song even in the storms or calm of our lives because He is with us. So let us rejoice in Him.
Blessed Day ahead.
