Galatians 6:9

“Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

We’ve all heard the saying, “What you sow is what you reap.” In Galatians 6, Paul urges believers to invest their lives in the things of the Spirit rather than the desires of the flesh. We’re not to give up doing what is right because our efforts will bear fruit in due time.

Our actions always reveal what’s truly in our hearts and where we stand with God. We are accepted by God purely because of Jesus’ sacrifice. But our faith in Him is lived out through the good we do. That’s why Paul highlights the importance of “doing good.” It’s how we put our spiritual life into practice. So, he reminds us not to give up and be persistent in doing good. We are called to do good to everyone, no matter who they are or where they come from.

As we celebrate International Men’s Day, Galatians 6:9 serves as a powerful reminder for all men—as sons, brothers, husbands, fathers, and friends—to keep doing good. God’s grace is enough, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

Let us take a moment to reflect: What are we sowing through our thoughts, words, and actions each day? Are they seeds that please the flesh or seeds that please the Spirit? Every choice we make is a seed, and the harvest is sure. When we choose to live in a way that honors God, we sow seeds that will one day bring eternal joy. The wait might be long, but God’s reward always comes at the right time.

So let’s keep doing good—not for applause or recognition, but out of love for Christ.
