1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
A farmer does not plant seeds today and expect a harvest tomorrow. Instead, he rises early, tills the soil, waters faithfully, and endures storms and scorching sun. His persistence produces fruit in due season. Likewise, Paul urges us to remain steadfast in the Lord’s work.
In the same way, an athlete in training does not gain strength from a single effort. Muscles grow through persistence, and endurance develops through consistency. Faith also demands discipline. What we uphold today must remain firm tomorrow, because steadfast obedience builds trust and anchors our lives in God’s Word.
While Nehemiah was rebuilding Jerusalem’s wall, enemies mocked, threatened, and tried to distract him. Yet he declared, “I am doing a great work and cannot come down.” He stood immovable, and the wall rose strong. His labour secured God’s people and glorified His name.
Our roles may look different, yet each carries eternal weight in God’s kingdom. The world will tempt us to quit, to compromise, or to chase comfort. However, Scripture commands us to stand firm. Refuse to be shaken by doubt, delay, or discouragement. Instead, live each day overflowing in service, prayer, generosity, and testimony.
Every act of obedience matters to God. Every prayer whispered, every child taught, every neighbour served, and every sacrifice made in Christ’s name carries eternal weight. None of it is in vain.
So rise each day with resolve, planting seeds of faith and building with perseverance. Run the race with endurance, anchor your heart in Christ’s victory, and let His triumph fuel your every step.
Today, make this commitment: I will not waver. I will abound in the Lord’s work. I will trust that my labour, however small, remains eternal in His hands.
