Psalm 34:8
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him.
We really cannot say that we like or dislike a certain food unless we taste it; it is a must before we make that decision.
Jesus, our Lord, is the bread of life – the bread from heaven. He is, without a doubt, better than anything we could ever taste in this world. He completely satisfies us with His love, His mercy, His goodness, and we know that!
But when someone does not know Jesus and has not yet tasted His goodness, we want them to give Him a try, right? Then we say, just as the psalmist said: Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! And when the tasting is done, His blessing follows! Trusting in God is a feeling that is blessed in itself. God also showers blessings on those who trust in Him.
We know that God’s love, goodness, mercy, and grace are what sustain us. We know we can run to Him when trials come. We’ve experienced the Lord’s touch, healing, deliverance, guidance, provision, care, and protection. We’ve experienced the power of the Holy Spirit within us. And we can’t wait to share it with our family, friends, and colleagues, so that they, too, can taste the goodness of our God.
So, tell them how good He is, and invite them to taste and see that the Lord is good, for blessed is the man who trusts in Him. Amen!
