Thank Goodness

Psalm 31:19 “Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!”

It is a fact that since we all are a part of this world, whatever happens in it will affect us in some way or the other. The environment, the surroundings, the people around us will influence us directly or indirectly, and we must face the consequences of our actions as well as those of others.

But there is also a greater truth, for the people who believe and receive Christ Jesus as their saviour. Though physically they live in the world, they belong to Him. The sin and the sufferings of this world may bring them down but cannot keep them down for too long. God’s goodness intervenes on their behalf and puts their lives back on track.

The above verse is a promise of a great reward that the Lord has in store for those who diligently seek and trust Him, out of love and reverence.

We are all sinful by nature and wickedness and deceit come naturally to us. But the Lord of the Holy Bible is loving, kind and holy in nature, and His goodness is one of His greatest characteristics. His goodness protects and provides. It blesses us in front of our friends and rescues us from the clutches of our enemies. God’s goodness can neither be stolen nor claimed. It is a reward that He gives freely to those who adore and worship Him.

Dear God, if it wasn’t for Your goodness, where would I be? I can’t thank You enough for being so good to me even when I was at my lowest. Thank you for loving me. In Jesus name, Amen!
