Psalm 107:8 – “Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!”
Depending on their culture and upbringing, children are taught and reminded to say “thank you” when someone does something nice towards them. It teaches them gratitude and appreciation.
But how thankful are we toward the Lord? And does the Lord like it when we give thanks to Him? For His goodness, for His wonderful works towards us? Well, in Psalm 107 the same verse is repeated four times, so, the Lord does like to hear this from us.
And do we have good reason to thank the Lord for all that He has done for us? The answer is a big “yes”! We have plenty of reason to be thankful to the Lord, because He always supplies all our needs – not our wants – but what we “really” need.
He is a good God, giver of all good gifts. He is a merciful God, His mercies are renewed every morning of our lives. He is a compassionate God, He is slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is a merciful God, full of compassion and forgiveness. He is a loving God: He died for us because of His unexplainable and infinite love for us, and He died so that through His death we could live forever.
So, how can we not be thankful to this full of compassion, merciful, kind, good, amazing, loving God?
We love and thank You dear Lord! We owe You many thanks for all that You have done for us!
Lord we thank You for Your love and mercy, we thank You for helping us in all our needs, we thank and praise You Lord Jesus for forgiveness of our sins, be with us Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
