Psalm 103:17 The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children.
‘Mercy’ is often connected to the withholding of punishment. We humans are sinful by nature and we tend to commit sin in our lives. We deserve punishment for our sins. But the very nature of God is that He is merciful. From the beginning of time humanity has experienced His mercy. God demonstrated His mercy by sending His only son Jesus to take the judgment that was rightfully ours. Lamentations 3:22-23 says “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.”
Every morning, God’s river of mercies flows fresh into us. There is no end to His mercies towards us because He loves us. Even when we fail Him, His love for us does not fail. In Lord Jesus Christ, we get to enjoy His love, mercy and righteousness. Our generations are blessed through Lord Jesus Christ.
We need His mercies every day. His mercy alone can take us through all our situations. His compassion restores us, even when we deserve punishment for our sins. His mercies are new every morning. Let us come close to His mercy and enjoy all the benefits it provides.
Today, let us make God our greatest treasure, and make Him the one we love most and prioritize Him in every area of our lives. Then His goodness and mercy will follow us and our generations. Our lives will be richly blessed with peace and we can put our hope and trust in all of His glorious promises.
Thank you Lord for Your mercies. You have given me a long life .Thank you lord.
