John 14:2 NKJV

“In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

Considering our eternal lives, the time we spend on Earth is less than 1% of that. John 14:2 promises believers a future home surrounded by the presence of God. Jesus refers to the Father’s house as heaven, assuring His disciples that there are many mansions or rooms in this heavenly dwelling for us. This verse is both comforting and reassuring, especially as we live with the hope of one day being with our Father for all eternity.

The phrase “I go to prepare a place for you” highlights how Jesus cares for us both on Earth and beyond. He never abandons or forsakes us, even for a moment. This gives us the confidence that He is always taking care of each one of us. God knows us by name and goes above and beyond to provide for and protect us.

Often, the small issues in life can consume so much of our attention that we fail to see the bigger picture God has for us. If Jesus can prepare a place for us in heaven, imagine the incredible things He has planned for us here on Earth. Let us learn to focus on what lies ahead, especially when the trivial things in life try to weigh us down. For us, God’s children, our hope is in Christ alone!
