“Now this is eternal life: that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.”
People around the world are obsessed with staying young. Anti-aging creams and cosmetic procedures are quickly becoming the norm among the affluent middle-aged population. Yet, no matter how much we try, we can’t ignore the fact that our bodies are aging and one day our life on Earth will end.
However, there is hope for those of us who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. The price for our sins was death, but Jesus paid for it with His life. And now, because of His sacrifice, we have the gift of eternal life. The life we’re living on earth is just the beginning of eternity. We look forward to a far better life in the age to come.
We have access to eternal life through a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Knowing influential people in this world will benefit us now, but knowing Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior will benefit us for all of eternity. It’s a continual process of learning from the Word of God, walking with the Holy Spirit, and growing closer to the Lord – until we meet Him face to face.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of eternal life. Help me draw closer to You and live every day in the light of eternity. Amen.
