Psalms 61:3-4 For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah.
Are you faced with problems that overwhelm you? Don’t give up. You are not alone in this battle. God has already prepared your miracle! You just need the right key to access it.
Daniel was orphaned and whisked off from his homeland by the Babylonians. He did nothing wrong to deserve such trauma. Nevertheless, he trusted God for a miracle and proved his faithfulness by constantly praying to Him!
In no time, he went from a prisoner to the Governor of Babylon, bypassing several others in line for the position. This did not sit well with the other candidates, who hatched a scheme to eliminate Daniel.
The Scheme:
Fully knowing that he wouldn’t stop praying to God even if the king insisted, they flattered the king and influenced him to pass a law that banned people from worshipping anyone except the king. The lions’ den awaited those who disobeyed the law.
Daniel’s Response:
Guess what Daniel did on hearing this news… You got that right! He prayed to our Living God As Usual!
The Consequence:
Though the king loved Daniel, he could not retract his law and Daniel was put into the lions’ den.
The Miracle:
Early in the morning, the king approached the den and called out to Daniel in anguish, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?” – Daniel 6:20.
Even the king knew that Daniel worshipped the Living God!
Long story short, Daniel was reinstated to his position and his enemies were thrown into the lions’ den. The king passed a new decree that stated, “In every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.” – Daniel 6:26.
Often, God won’t shut the lions’ den. But, rest assured he will miraculously shut the lion’s mouth!
