John 8:12
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.
We all know how darkness feels, not just the one we feel around us, but also that inside us. It’s the kind of darkness that makes our path unclear, weighs down our hearts, and leads us to wrong choices. Gradually, it lures us into worldly delusions. But then comes God’s promise: Light. Not a flicker that’s unsteady and fades away, but a constant presence that stays.
When we accept Christ, we come out of darkness and step into the light. His light not only guides us, but also helps us find our identity as people who belong to God. He gently reveals what’s good and worth holding onto. Sometimes, He shows us the next step, sometimes He gives us discernment, and sometimes He just reminds us that we’re not lost and that we belong to Him, for a lifetime and after.
Being in the light changes our perspective. Fear softens. Hope stretches. Even the hard places in our lives start to shimmer with quiet grace. We begin to see that the light isn’t just leading us forward — it’s growing within us. We walk differently when we walk in His light! Even in confusion, even when the night feels long, we’re never without direction. The light of Christ doesn’t just show the way home — it is home.
