“The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing“. – Zephaniah 3:17
The capitalization of “LORD” indicates the use of God’s personal, covenantal name, Yahweh or Jehovah. This demonstrates His personal, caring nature towards His people. He is not a God that has no interest in His people, but a God who desires to dwell among His people.
He is in the midst of our chaos. Let’s pause for a moment and meditate on who is in our midst. The word of God says “The Mighty One”. Today you might be going through a legal battle or fighting a terminal disease or going through financial loss or job loss, no matter what is your chaos, God – The mighty One is amid your chaos because HE loves you. He brings along His gladness, and His love when we welcome Him in our midst.
In this world, we may have many sufferings, but when we cry out to Him, He responds with His deep love. We still may have battles to fight and wars to wage while on this earth, but He will see us through all of them with His quieting love that dispels all worry and concern. Hebrews 13:5 says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” He sings a love song for us. Imagine the song that God sings for us. He created the entire universe by only speaking, so imagine what would happen if He began to sing. There is no other song that could compare with the wonder of this song or the One singing it.
