Romans 8:39 – “… nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8: 38-39).
This without doubt is one of the most known and powerful verses in the Bible, it reminds us that our God loved us first with an everlasting love; He knew precisely what He was doing for us when He sent His son to die on the cross; and because we accept and believe these truths, we are more than conquerors and because we believe, we too will live.
The apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, before writing these verses, also asked an important question: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?” (Romans 8: 35).
If absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of Christ, let not be ‘us’ who will: not our emotions, our weaknesses, our faults, our failures, our doubts, our problems. Let us do like David did and remind our soul to ‘stay quiet’. Let us not focus on our problems, let us focus on our Mighty God. Let us remember that “our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” (2 Corinthians 4:17).
Glory to God! Thank you Father. Help us remember daily of Your love for us. Thank you for making us, loving us, saving us, for calling us, for Your everlasting and powerful love. Amen!
