Nahum 1:2 God is jealous, and the Lord avenges; The Lord avenges and is furious. The Lord will take vengeance on His adversaries, And He reserves wrath for His enemies;
Our God is known for His compassion and forgiveness. But, He has one sworn enemy whom can never forgive.
Do you know who we’re talking about?
Yes, it’s Lucifer.
Few years after the Lord created the Earth, satan deceived Adam and Eve, forcing them to invite death upon themselves.
Satan sneered at God as he enslaved humans – God’s most beloved creation. Unable to witness the plight of mankind, the Lord Jesus stepped down to offer Himself as a sacrifice for our sins.
Satan gloated more than ever when Jesus breathed His last on the cross. Little did he know that it was the last time he was going to gloat or sneer at God.
While in the tomb, the Lord Jesus descended into hell to face the enemy. As the Lord Jesus approached the gates of hell, mirth and revelry came to an abrupt standstill. The only noise that ensued was the chattering of teeth, as satan trembled with fear.
The Lord Jesus annihilated satan and his army on their own turf. He snatched the keys of death and hell away from satan and left him in a state of utter misery.
“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” – Revelations 1:18
Yes, He beat death through His own death that we may live in freedom!
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” – John 15:13
And that’s what the Lord Jesus did to make a way for us to enter heaven. Though we are sinners, “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” – 2 Corinthians 5:21
Today, the Lord Jesus sits at the right hand of our Heavenly Father and intercedes for us. He has done more for us than we can repay in a hundred lifetimes. The least we can do is try our best to not let Him down!
Can we make that pledge today?
Yes, I will never let my Jesus down, no turning back, all Glory to Him alone, Amen
