Psalm 71:5 “For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.” KJV
What is Hope? It is an expectation from someone or something. It is a feeling of trust and dependency. Hope is what keeps us going, even when the stacks are against us. Does this mean that as long as we have hope, things will always fall in place? Well, certainly not. It entirely depends on who or what have we pinned our hopes on.
Hope and trust are two qualities that need to be earned. It needs to be tested and tried and cannot be developed overnight. Many of us have lots of friends, courtesy social media, but very few who we can actually trust.
The above verse brings forth an irrefutable fact that the Lord of the Holy Bible possesses the great qualities of hope and trust and continues to maintain a winning streak in that aspect. It encourages us to make God our go-to-person in times of distress and hopelessness.
Have you lost all hope in life because of your situation? Or maybe you are afraid to trust anyone due to your past experiences of betrayal and rejection. Today maybe a good day to shift your hopes from the people and things of this world and pin it on Jesus, the never failing and ever faithful God. Confide in Him with your problems and cry to Him about your pain. He is the only one who is able to fix your life. When you make Him your pillar of hope and trust, your life will no longer seem hopeless. As long as the Lord of the Holy Bible lives, there will be no dearth of hope and trust, for the Lord says, “I will never leave nor forsake you.”
