The Wonderful Counsellor

Proverbs 12:15 “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.” KJV

The Holy Bible is more than just a book. It is a way of life, a treasure chest and the key to a wholesome life.

The above verse presents itself both as a warning as well as an opportunity. It is a warning against the act of walking in the path of wickedness as well as an opportunity to mend our ways.

The Lord of the Holy Bible is quite clear on what He expects from us, leaving no room for doubt or ambiguity of any kind. His instructions are straightforward and absolute. Jesus, through His life here on earth showed us all how to live. He lived a life void of sin and wickedness. He set a benchmark with His high-quality living and exemplary wisdom. Jesus never failed to consult His Heavenly Father on all things, and walked in the path of righteousness.

We are reminded today, that the ones who despise the opinion and advice of the wise and disregard the ways of the Lord and continue to live a life of low standards, with little or no values are bound to suffer the consequences of their poor lifestyle. Therefore, let us take this opportunity to rethink our ways and be encouraged to seek the Lord in everything we do and, in the process, improve the standard of our life. Let us not neglect the counsel of the Lord, but welcome His chastisements and corrections.

No matter how old or experienced we may be, the Lord will always have something new to teach us. Let us embrace His instructions and live according to His word, so that we do not end up like a fool, but will be a man filled with wisdom, knowledge and grace. He will guide and direct us into a wholesome and victorious life.
