Let my mouth be filled with Your praise And with Your glory all the day.Psalm 71:8.
What do we fill our mouths with? Doubts, confessions of fear, murmurings, gossips and what not. Psalmist David, in the above Psalm is beseeching GOD to fill his mouth with praises to GOD and glorification of HIS HOLY NAME.
When we are stressed out at our job, tensed with the many commitments of life, we tend to use our words very carelessly and mostly make statements that are against our growth and development. But the bible says in Proverbs 18:21: Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
The Bible emphasises a lot on the power of positive speech. Our life always turns out, that way we speak about it. The book of James in chapter 3 gives us an insight of the power of our tongue, a small portion of it is reciprocated here “ take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts.
So let us, fill our mouths with praises to our GOD instead of offensive speech and gossip. May our life be filled with HIS Glory and shine forth for the world to see.
By the believers authority vested in us, we break the power of negative words and word curses we and others have placed on our lives.
