Turning Thankfulness Into Action

Isaiah 58:11 – And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

God asks, “Is this not the kind of fasting I have chosen?” In this verse we are called to:
• Divide our bread with the hungry
• Shelter the homeless
• Clothe the naked and not turn away

God revealed His concern for the hungry and the vulnerable in Isaiah 58:7, when He said, “share your food with the hungry.”

Indeed, God “fills the hungry with good things” (Psalm 107:9), and “gives food to the hungry” (Psalm 146:7). So we can know we are participating in a work that is close to the heart of God!
